Syrian Influence In the Palestinian Authority

A new rift has emerged in the Hamas-Fatah struggle for power over the territories. A group of anti-Fatah Palestinians is scheduled to meet in Damascus to discuss political issues. Abbas, President of the PA, and his party members are opposed to the meeting taking place in Syria. They essentially said that Syria should mind their own business and leave the Palestinians to decide their own course of action.
