Canadian Minister Visits Israel

by Eric on January 15, 2008

Several days ago, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier ended a trip to Israel. The close follow up to the United States delegation rang out a similar song, “We are committed to the peace process.” It is good to see the nice people in Canada getting involved. I hope, however, that the government does not act like many Canadian university students: Extreme Anti-Israel Supporters.

I know several people who were in physical danger when Canadian students became violent in an anti-Israel protest leading up to then Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu’s speech on the campus. This travesty lead to the cancellation of the event for the safety of Bibi and the students.

I hope the government is more level minded and fair about the peace process.

More about the visit here.
