The Prospect of a Nuclear Iran

For more information on the news story see this article.

Iran has publicly announced that it intends to wipe Israel off the face of the planet. While this is happening, the United States and United Nations have worked to convince Iran to shut down its nuclear program. This program is operating to “provide electricity” for the Iranian people. However, as many of us know, nuclear power is not the only result of nuclear reactors.

Scientifically speaking, the fuel that goes into a nuclear power plant is a refined isotope of uranium (U-235). The leftover fuel is in the form of uranium 235, 237, and plutonium. These can be used again for more fuel, reducing nuclear waste. However, the plutonium is “weapons grade”, meaning it can be used in a nuclear bomb or missile.

Why is this important, even if Iran is not refining weapons grade uranium, as it claims, nuclear material is still a byproduct of the nuclear power process. Iran said that they want to destroy Israel, and the leftovers of the nuclear plant give them the means to do so.

The United States, United Nations, EU, and Israel cannot let this process continue. Iranian President Ahmadinejad openly said what he wants to do and no one is listening. Hitler openly said what he wanted to do as well, and had anyone taken him seriously a great tragedy could have been avoided. Technology today would allow Iran to do in a moment what Germany did over several years. Over 50% of the Jews in the world live in Israel, mostly in densely populated areas such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Beer Sheeva, and Haifa. It would only take a few bombs to wipe out a large portion of the Jews in the world.

The world needs to stand up to the radical government of Iran and end this nuclear process, by whatever means necessary.
